On November 28, the guidance course of scientific research papers of School of Marxism named “Heart of Teachers and Ingenuity, Study Hard and Continue Firmly” was held in room 1101, building 1. This activity was led by Cheng Shibo, a young teacher of our school. Xu Ruixia, deputy director of the innovation, entrepreneurship, and labor education center of the Youth League Committee of School of Marxism, served as the host.
At the beginning of the activity, Cheng Shibo shared his understanding of the scientific research writing with the students of School of Marxism from four aspects: paper style, research value, rigorous attitude and language refinement. When it comes to reading, Cheng Shibo took the martial arts school as an example to vividly describe the importance of lay a solid foundation and having a “unique book”. At the same time, Cheng Shibo pointed out that we should break through our own comfort zone in reading, look through more books which are difficult to read and understand, expand our own horizons, improve the height of looking upon problems, master the writing perspectives of different scientific research papers, and improve the sensitivity of scientific research writing.
In terms of writing, Cheng Shibo explained the skills of scientific research writing in detail from three points of view: the prominence of “questioning” sense, the flexibility of logical thinking and the accumulation of language materials. At the same time, he pointed out that there are two approaches to writing - positive thinking and reverse thinking and provided the students with four ways to gradually transition from positive thinking to reverse thinking. Finally, he stressed that scientific research writing is a process of many a little making a mickle and rising abruptly based on its accumulated strength. He expected students to hold on in this process, coordinate the relationship between learning, health, and life, and take their own road of growing and becoming a talented person in Guizi Mountain.
When talking about feelings, Cheng Duoduo, a student of the class of 2021, said: "I have benefited a lot from the view of 'getting inspiration for scientific research writing from reading' of Teacher Cheng Shibo. This instruction class not only answered my doubts about essay writing, but also made me realize that reading classic works is the most foundational scientific research training. As freshmen, we should pay attention to accumulating language materials, cultivating logical thinking, laying a good foundation and gradually improving our academic ability.”
This activity of treatise guidance course aims to teach treatise writing skills, inspire students of School of Marxism to build their own treatise style, improve treatise writing level, and reduce obstacles on the way of pursuing scientific research dream, playing a positive role in cultivating students' scientific research quality and writing skills. Hope that the students of School of Marxism can actively participate in scientific research activities, utilize their creativity and win glory for their school in the future.
