In order to deepen the understanding of Hubei province and Jing-Chu culture among students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and promote the exchange and friendship between teachers and students from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao, “the 16th Cross-strait Jing-Chu Culture Training Camp and the 9th Jing-Chu Education And Culture Training Group for students from Hong Kong and Macao” were held in Wuhan and Yichang from November 19th to 28th. More than 100 teachers and students from sister schools across the Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao participated in the event, which was conducted both online and offline.
At the launching ceremony, Vice Principal Peng Nansheng expressed his sincere welcome to the teachers and students who participated in the "Jing-Chu Culture Training Camp". He pointed out that the camp achieved simultaneous online and offline learning and communication through online live broadcast, which built a new friendship bridge for promoting mutual learning and integration between the youth of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao. He hoped that the teachers and students would actively participate in the study and exchange activities, and deeply feel the profound cultural heritage of Jing-Chu, the unique cultural charm and the rapid development and changes of the motherland.
During the activity, the teachers and students listened to the special lecture of "Chinese Culture: Jing-Chu Culture", and felt the profound history of Hubei. And they also visited the three Gorges Dam scenic spot and Wuhan Bridge Museum to learn the functions and effectiveness of the Three Gorges Project which benefited the country and the people, as well as learning about the long history and strong strength of China's bridge construction, enhancing national pride and confidence.Besides, they inspected the hometown of citrus -- Yichang Guanzhuang village and the first three Gorges migrant village -- Xu Jiachong village, where they experienced the achievements of contemporary new rural construction, cultivated the emotions of family and country; They went to the Optical Valley Liberal Arts Activity Practice Base to carry out bridge building, barbecue and other team activities to improve practical ability and teamwork spirit. They visited the "Zhiyin" cruise ship and held themed salon sharing and exchange activities. Both students and teachers enhanced mutual understanding and forged deep friendship through study tour, sharing and discussion.
At the graduation ceremony, Vice principal Peng Shuangjie congratulated the successful completion of the training camp and affirmed the achievements of the activity. He pointed out that the teachers and students through the online and offline colorful activities, learned the Jing-Chu culture, enhanced the friendship between each other, felt the prosperity of the motherland and harvested remarkable results. He hoped that all the teachers and students would foster a sense of patriotism, shoulder the mission of The Times, share the achievements of the motherland's development, forge the great cause of national rejuvenation, spread the achievements of cultural innovation, and build an emotional bridge and cultural bond between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao.
So far, our school has held the activity of “Cross-strait Jing-Chu Culture Training Camp” for 16 times and “the Jing-Chu Education And Culture Training Group for students from Hong Kong and Macao” for 9 times. More than 30 sister school s including nearly 1500 students and teachers participated in it, and the social effect is great. These activities attached a great importance to promote the youth’s friendship and common improvement between the two sides of Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao regions.
