2021 Ethnic Student Education Symposium of the School of Chemistry Was Successfully Held

On the morning of November 26th, the educational thematic meeting of ethnic students of the School of Chemistry 2021 was successfully held in Conference Room H303B of the Yifu Chemistry Building. The meeting was attended by Li Chunyan from the Ethnicity Office of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee of the University, Xu Fen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chemistry, and full-time and part-time counsellors of undergraduates from the School of Chemistry. The meeting was chaired by Xu Fen.

First of all, Adilamu Memetiimin, a part-time counsellor of minorities, gave a comprehensive introduction to the basic situation of ethnic students in the college from three aspects: thought, studies, and student work. An Xiaolei, head of the "Red Pomegranate Ethnic Workshop", and Nie Min, head of "Ms. Nie and Her Pomegranate Workshop," gave a report on the workshop and the work of the workshop respectively. Ms. Nie introduced the work and plans of the "Red Pomegranate Enhancement Group," the "Red Pomegranate Reading Corner," and "A Date With Pomegranate." She emphasised that the activities of the workshop should start with ideological guidance and focus on the building of a team system to motivate students and improve the quality of activities. Xu Fen elaborated on the development of the platforms of "Red Pomegranate" series and stressed that in the subsequent work they would pay more attention to party building to drive ideological guidance and carry out a series of activities based on "Strengthen Thought, Strengthen Study, Strengthen Quality, and Strengthen Practice" to work together to strengthen the sense of community of the Chinese nation, promote the interaction and communion of students of various nationalities, and carry out in-depth education on national unity and progress.

Secondly, regarding the holistic and individual problems of ethnic students in each grade, Ms. Li Chunyan also gave advice and guidance：firstly, on the academic aspect of ethnic students, she affirmed the college's "Peer Guidance" program and spoke highly of the academic support work for ethnic students; secondly, on the educational aspect of ethnic students, she hoped that the college would provide more opportunities for ethnic students to show themselves and grow through the series of platforms of "Red Pomegranate," so as to accurately help and assist students; thirdly, on the safety aspect of ethnic students, she suggested that one-to-one checks should be conducted to eliminate safety risks and carry out safety education to ensure students' safety at school.

Finally, Secretary Xu once again thanked Ms. Li Chunyan for her support and guidance of the college's ethnic work and her plans for the educational work of the ethnic students. She stressed that the academic difficulties of ethnic students in the School of Chemistry were more important, and in their future work they would focus on addressing the practical needs of ethnic students and providing accurate assistance in academic and psychological aspects. At the same time, we will continue to build a comprehensive platform for the development of ethnic students and work together for their education.
