Recently, the final of the reading sharing meeting "Words Witness Growth, Reading Enlightens Life" of the College of Public Administration in 2021 was held successfully in the Academic Lecture Hall on the ground floor of the South Lake Synthetic Building. Zeng Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Public Administration, Zhang Kui Li, class teacher of undergraduate class 2102, Wei Lai, class teacher of undergraduate class 2101, Zuo Yinan, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Liao Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Li Minlin, part-time counselor of the prep class, were invited to attend this meeting. All students from undergraduate classes 2020 and 2021 and all students from prep class 2021 attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Zhou Rundi, an undergraduate student of class 2021.

After the preliminary selection, a total of seven students from three grades entered the final round of this reading sharing meeting. Classic books such as The Selected Works of Mao Zedong, Sophie's World, The Chrysanthemum and the Knife, Rural China, and The Nature of Poverty: Why We Can't Get Rid of Poverty covered a wide range of fields, including literature, history, and society. The contestants shared their insights from the author's introduction, content summaries, and feelings and experiences in vivid, interesting, sincere, and profound language.

After the speeches of the contestants, the reading sharing meeting designed an award-winning quiz session on the selected books. Students participated actively and thoughtfully, and the atmosphere was warm and harmonious.

Mr. Wei Lai expressed his gratitude to the students for their wonderful sharing. He shared his insights on reading from three aspects: what is a classic,why read a classic and how to read a classic. He encouraged the students to pay more attention to critical thinking in their reading, to think more deeply in relation to what they read, and to appreciate the meaning and value that reading the book could bring to them, which could also enhance their independent learning ability.

According to the final score statistics, Huang Wenjia won the first prize, Tan Xinyi and Wu Yijia won the second prize, and Han Renjie, Qiu Xin, Yan Yuxin and Zhao Xiuran won the third prize. Meanwhile, the sharing of Wu Yijia and Han Renjie was selected as excellent reading reports. At the end of the meeting, the award winners were presented with certificates and they took a group photo.

In recent years, the college has successfully held several reading sharing meetings. All have been successful, with students presenting and sharing the classic books they have read on stage and showing their new thoughts about them. The theme of this Reading Sharing Meeting was "Words Witness Growth, Reading Enlightens Life," which aimed to encourage students to develop the good habit of wanting to read, learning to read, being motivated to study diligently, being hard-working, and being a public administrator who studies well, reads good books, and likes reading.
