The Voice of CCNU Recently, in order to make solid strides in work of Full-staff education, full-process education and all-round education, school of fine arts held a meeting with head teachers of undergraduate freshmen and a class meeting with the theme of ‘Breaking the Ice -- Setting Sail’. This activity was held separately by normal school students, other university students as well as students of design major. The head teachers of each class and some class assistants were invited to share the ‘college experience’. Freshmen of grade 2022 attended the meeting.
Fine arts（normal school students）
Li Tuo, the head teacher of Class 1, warmly welcomed the arrival of the freshmen, and then stressed that they should have a clear goal and direction at university. As normal school students, they should strive to enrich themselves, stride proudly ahead and stand erect no matter what situation they were in.
Yin Zi, the head teacher of Class 2, put forward that:‘I hope you will always have something to love in your heart, such as passion, ideal, perseverance, sense of responsibility and mission. At the same time, as an art student, you should not ignore your professional ability, and develop the habit of often writing and painting in your spare time."
On the eve of the class meeting, news of death of a painting master Kim Jung Gi reached abroad. While deeply mourning him, Yin Zi pointed out, ‘no person is born a genius, but gradually reaches the height of genius through continuous efforts.’
Yu Ying, the head teacher of Class 3, answered the questions of freshmen in detail at the class meeting and reminded students to be fully prepared for university life.
Fine arts
Chen Xi, the head teacher, answered the questions of major division, current courses and so on in detail. She helped students work out some problems about taking part in the national postgraduate entrance examination and postgraduate recommendation with her own experiences. At the same time, she encouraged students to develop common interests with each other, and then strive to make progress together with hobby groups.
Counselor Li Hanyu also combined her own undergraduate learning experience and told everyone to have courage to try, to find the most suitable learning method.
Design
Pu yang, the head teacher of Class 1, told students to do their own planning for university life in the first year, participate in more competitions and specific practice and not be limited to their own professional. They were expected to expand their interdisciplinary knowledge in university life and dare to communicate with students from other schools. It would be a bonus to cultivate awareness of assessing the situation, dare to be good at combining their professional with digital trends, and find ‘the eye of the storm’ to adapt to the era.
Shi Ke, the head teacher of Class 2, introduced herself and the design major to students with humorous words.
Then her guided the freshmen to introduce themselves, encouraged students to express themselves, ask questions, and finally answer them.
Liu Lan, the head teacher of Class 3, firstly introduced her identity: a professional teacher of digital media art, and said: ‘as a professional teacher, I can deal with your professional consultation, recommend classic professional books to you, and provide information of professional exhibition and design competitions with real worth, lead you to integrate quickly into teaching rhythm."
Then, Liu Lan introduced the excellent teachers and professional characteristics of school of fine arts to the students, and showed the experience of senior students who had been admitted to graduate school this year, which set a benchmark for study of the students in the future
The meeting of Class 4 was hosted by class assistant Chen Xi and monitor Ji Yukun. It was the first time of Zhang Han, the head teacher of Class 4, to meet all the students of this class. And all the students of this class, Duo Jia and Guo Gongcong attended this meeting.
Zhang Han hoped that students would uphold the school motto and abide by school rules, find their own directions and goals in the next four years, and continue to forge ahead, ride the wind and cleave, and strive to become a loyal, liberal, realistic and innovative young man of CCNU.
The students of each class listened carefully at the meeting, asked for advice with an open mind, and then introduced themselves. Some classes carried out the ‘ice breaking’game, and invited class assistants to participate in the game to make the atmosphere of the meeting active.
So far, the meeting of school of fine arts with head teachers of undergraduates of freshmen and a class meeting with the theme of ‘Breaking the Ice -- Setting Sail’came to the end. This activity narrowed the gap between the head teachers and students, let freshmen have a more comprehensive understanding of the university situation, and also let students have a more reasonable and feasible plan for their university life.
