On the afternoon of October 13, the third session of "front-line face-to-face" heart-to-heart talk for counselors was successfully held. Chen Diming, deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, successively conducted an individual conversation with Wang Yan, a master counselor of College of Economics and Business Management, and Zhang Lan, a master counselor of School of Mathematics and Statistic, in office 325 of the administration building. After the conversation, Mr. Chen had a comprehensive understanding of the two counselors’ profession development processes, progress of the “six-one” work and “caring education” and student work thoughts and ideas. Also, Mr. Chen took two counselors’ opinions and advice about how to implement ideological and political education for postgraduates well in the new situation.
Secretary Chen first had a conservation with Wang Yan, the master counselor of College of Economics and Business Management, about the work of ideological and political education and management for postgraduates. Teacher Wang Yan introduced the detailed progress of the special work “six-one” work and “caring education” conducted by himself and the school, and he emphasized the good basis of the college’s ideological and political work of postgraduates. Furthermore, in the following works, he planned to carry out the educational management work of the postgraduates in a scheduled, step-by-step way with different groups and topics, adequately combining the features of the graduate group of college, taking the work of party construction as the reliable point，coordinating with the graduate tutor group, and paying attention to the crucial time periods such as the enrollment, employment and graduation. Secretary Chen had a deep communication with Wang Yan on some key problems in the course of educational management of the postgraduates and fully affirmed his work performance and ideas. Simultaneously, Mr. Chen encouraged him to keep exploring, persist for a long time, find the accurate entry point and accumulate experience and achievements in the process of ideological and political education and management of postgraduates with affection and devotion.
Subsequently, Secretary Chen had a comprehensive conservation with Zhang Lan, the master counselor of School of Mathematics and Statistic. Teacher Zhang made a detailed introduction of the overall progress of the implementation of the “caring education” work, combining her own work experience, the practice of postgraduates’ ideological and political work, achievements of college’s graduate work, etc. Secretary Chen fully affirmed Zhang Lan’s enthusiasm for work, competence in work and effectiveness of work in the ideological and political work path of postgraduates. He said that Office of Student Affairs would pay attention to counselors’ growth in all aspects and solve their potential problems in work and life as soon as possible. At the same time, Mr. Chen expected Zhang Lan to “take root and sink down” in the following works and to keep exploring new paths to develop the ideological and political education work of postgraduates and to seek new breakthroughs in educational management work of postgraduates.
Secretary Chen Diming stressed that graduate training units and counselor groups should attach great importance to accumulating in daily works, seeking teamwork in the work team and pursuing development in major works. Office of Student Affairs would also organize to hold the Promotion Meeting for Management of Ideological and Political Education of Postgraduates in the near future, with the purpose of further promoting the ideological and political work of postgraduates in our school.
