Recently, the fourth session of “front-line face-to-face” heart-to-heart talk for counselors was successfully held. Chen Diming, deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, successively conducted an individual conversation with Ren Menglu, an undergraduate counselor of Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, and Wei Lu, an undergraduate counselor of School of Politics and International Relations, in office 325 of the administration building. Yang Jun and Li Diao, Vice Ministers of Office of Student Affairs of the Party Committee, also talked with counselors of related units respectively.
Secretary Chen first had a conservation with Ren Menglu, the undergraduate counselor of Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education. Ren Menglu introduced the student works conducted by herself and the faculty from aspects of party construction among students, academic instruction, psychological assistance, financial assistance for poor students, employment work and ideological education combing with the progress of the “six-one” work. Based on building faculty’s “artificial intelligence plus” brand of student works, she also talked about her own thinking and relevant work about it. Secretary Chen affirmed Ren Menglu’s work and expected her to carry out student work creatively and form her own characteristics of student work on the basis of existing work combining with her students’ traits and relying on the platform of the faculty. And Secretary Chen hoped that she could constantly improve her comprehensive capability which can contribute to boost and stimulate student works.
Subsequently, Secretary Chen had a conversation with Wei Lu, the undergraduate counselor of School of Politics and International Relations, in aspects like the progress of “six-one” work. Wei Lu introduced her situation of carrying out the “six-one” work from cases and combined with cases to introduce a series of work in the field of ideological education, job hunting and employment of students conducted by the institute. Also, she shared her feelings and experiences of carrying out the “six-one” work and exchanged views with Secretary Chen on the relationship between the “six-one” work and “three-wide” education. Secretary Chen affirmed that Wei Lu had a surefooted work style and had ideas, thoughts, reflections and summaries on student work. Furthermore, Secretary Chen expected her to stick to it, constantly improve herself, refine her own characteristics and create her own brand of student work.
In addition, Yang Jun, the head of Student Affairs Office, and Li Diao, the head of Ideological and Political Education office, went to Research Center for Language and Language Education, Center for Chinese Rural Studies, Law School, School of Physical Education and School of economic and Business Administration respectively, with the purpose of having one-to-one talks with front-line political work cadres, learning about the process of carrying out counselor work and took counselors’ opinion and advice about the student work conducted by school and institute. Undergraduate and postgraduate full-time counselors communicated with each other about the situation of personal career development, work assessment system and management of student affairs. In the course of communication, director Yang Jun and Li Diao encouraged counselors to timely adjust themselves under pressure of student work, make good use of work resources and preserve the bottom line of student work. Yang Jun and Li Diao emphasized that counselors should considerate further and practice more for their own development, locate their development directions and research interests, and combine their specialties to make actual results.
