The Voice of CCNU (The correspondent Qian Xiaoyuan and Yu Wenqi) On the evening of October 28th, the Honesty Education Theme Class Meetings of class one and class two were respectively held in classroom 7401 and 7402. The meeting aimed to further promote the honesty education of college students, advocate honest behaviors, cultivate the virtue of honesty and carry forward the culture of honesty.
The class one introduced the topic of “Cultivate virtue by honesty and educate people by credit” through a game called “Draw&Guess”. After wonderfully interpreting the words related to honesty, the awareness of honesty had rooted in students’ hearts. Gong Peiyun, the head teacher of class one, emphasized that honesty was an essential character of college students and that with the rapid development of information, credit record had got more importances as a lifelong wealth of reputation, which should be widely attached enough importance to. Subsequently, Gong Peiyun introduced the specific contents of the self-inspection activity of the honesty education, including aspects in personal credit, tuition payment and the situation of borrowing and reserving books. Also, she supervised students to promptly accomplish the self-inspection of honesty in conformity to the procedure. In the end, through watching some parts of the movie Green book, the class advisor Gong Peiyun highlighted that the inner requirement of honesty was not solely about adhering to its principle on a personal level, but also trying to influence others. She also stressed that in the normal epidemic prevention and control work and following mid-term examination, we should persist in asking for leaving according to the fact, finishing the nucleic acid testing on time and taking the exam honestly. Via these, students could cultivate a high sense of giving priority to the integrity and appreciate the importance of honesty as a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation.
“The Chinese culture emphasizes that ‘promises must be kept and actions must be resolute’ and that it is difficult to trust a man’s capability who doesn’t own honesty. Whether past or present, such kind of concepts have their distinctive national characters and permanent values,” General Secretary Xi Jinping expounded. Started from his saying, the class two began the class meeting with the theme of “Establish moral values and educate people, make integrity a fundamental”. At the beginning of the class meeting, students had better understandings of the importance and necessity of being an honest man through realistic cases and an interactive game called “Who is undercover”. Subsequently, Bao Chenwanqing, the head master of the class two, introduced the procedure of inspection of personal credit, tuition payment and borrowing and reserving books in detail. In the course of explanation, Bao Chenwanqing used the case of campus loan as an example to remind students to prevent fraud and improve their vigilance. Meantime, she emphasizes that we should attach importance to checking and maintaining personal credit data and that self-inspection activity was necessary, which was of great significance to cultivating personal morality, standardizing the management of school and making rational use of resources. At the last of the meeting, students were asked to write down their impressions after watching parts of the movie Genius Gunner, which talked about a talented girl from losing her honesty to finding it back ultimately. These activities helped students to form a correct honesty concept, understand the connotation of integrity and truly internalize and externalize it.
The Honesty Education Theme Class Meeting of 2022 Minority Preparatory Classes had been successfully completed. Through this activity, students further realized the importance of integrity and gradually deepened their moral consciousness of “Giving priority to integrity”. After the activity, Liu Tengfei, a preparatory student of Grade 2022, said “The honesty education activity had further strengthened my awareness and determination to be honest. In my study and life afterwards, I would uphold the fine tradition of the Chinese nation and be honest.”
