On the afternoon of November 4th, the 2022 college students’ mental health education work conference and the opening ceremony of teachers’ studio named “cultivating talents in mathematics” of the school of mathematics and statistics was successfully held on the fourth floor of building six. Chen Deming, deputy secretary of the Party committee and director of the school work department of the Party committee; Li Diao, deputy director of the School Work department and director of the ideological and political affairs department; Wu Jiancheng, deputy director general; Wang Hong, deputy director of the school hospital; Yu Say, full-time teacher of the mental health education center; Remila, full-time counselor of the school work department, were invited to attend the meeting. Liu Chengzhu, the Party committee secretary of the school of mathematics and statistics, Zhang Jun, Tian Jun, the deputy secretary, Jiang Mina, Cheng Ting, Yang Cuihong, Liu Chuangchuang, Luo Jinquan, Huang Jicai and Chen Gang, the members of teachers’ studio named “cultivating talents in mathematics” and all the college's full-time and part-time counselors attended the meeting. This meeting was presided over by Tian Jun.
At the beginning of the meeting, all the attendants watched the review video about school workshop concerning “mathematics in heart”. Subsequently, Tian Jun made a brief summary of the psychological education work situation, problems and difficulties that existed. School tightly fastened one main road, ”insisting on unifying the education of hearts and minds, carrying out mental health work with warmth”. Building up the “bridge of connecting hearts”in mental health education according to two platforms which one is peering workshop in mathematics, the other is teachers’ studio named “cultivating talents in mathematics”. School would continually stick to guiding students in multiple dimensions, concentrating on the accuracy, warmth, width of mental health education, improving level forth prevention and control system, promoting the capability of scientific identification and real-time warning, combining psychological education and sports education, financial support and academic guidance organically throughout the whole process of student development. School would create high-quality activities, broaden the popularization of knowledge, and build an infiltrating heart cultivation system.
At the meeting, Chen Deming unveiled teachers' studio named “cultivating talents in mathematics“ and took a photo with all the teachers. Afterwards, Jiang Mina gave a speech on behalf of the studio. She shared the original intention of founding the studio and introduced the three main tasks of the studio, hoping to bring warmth and companionship to the students through the professional influence and personality charm of the teachers. Chen Deming fully affirmed the construction concept and ideas of the studio, hoping that the studio can play a radiating role, improve the supporting system, further establish a long-term mechanism, and then strive to build the studio into an important carrier for teachers and students to communicate and an important platform for carrying out mental health publicity and education activities, making it a characteristic model brand.
In the second stage of the conference, the counselors discussed the situation and intervention measures of the highly cared cases of each grade in turn. Wu Jiancheng and Yu Sai gave specific guidance to relevant cases. Wang Hong responded to the relevant problems on the school hospital psychological outpatients. Li Diao fully acknowledged the school's unremitting efforts in psychological education, and put forward requirements for students' daily management and psychological support under the normal epidemic prevention and control situation. He also hoped that the school would continue to play the educational effect of professional teachers and peers to help students to form a long-term mechanism.
Finally, Liu Chengzhu on behalf of the college again thanked the School Party Committee Student Work Department, the mental health education center and the school hospital for the support of the college work, he said the college would promote the psychological education system construction in a high position, ensure the bottom line, race to the top, and strive to achieve full education of "heart"from three aspects, and hoped that the school could give the college more attention and support.
