On the afternoon of November 2, 2023, the sixth counselor theme salon - "College Students' Growth Thematic Education Course Collective Lesson Preparation" was held in conference Room 609, College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, South Building, Building 10.The salon focused on the construction of college students' growth thematic education courses and the exchange of lesson preparation experience of counselors. Wei Lu, counselor of the School of Politics and International Studies, Lu Wen, counselor of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, gave a keynote speech, and representatives of teaching counselors from various schools attended the meeting. The activity was presided over by Mr. Chen Zhi, Office of Student Affairs of CCNU.
Chen Zhi first introduced the development of the thematic education course for college students. He pointed out that in order to adapt to the reform of the ideological and political education system in colleges and universities, the school has officially incorporated growth-themed education as a compulsory general education course into the undergraduate talent training program since 2021, and has now become an important part of the ideological and political education system for undergraduates. After the operation and development in recent years, the counselors of each school have accumulated certain teaching experience. He hoped that the counselors could take this opportunity to exchange and learn, and continue to carry out the course teaching in a standardized and innovative way.
Wei Lu focused on the problem of "How to prepare lessons for the Growth Thematic Education of College Students", from the three aspects of "what is, why and how to do", talked about the problems, reasons and methods in turn, and deeply analyzed all aspects that need to be considered in preparing a growth thematic education course. She stressed that in the course preparation, we should pay attention to the investigation and understanding of current political hot spots and students' concerns, and make full use of external forces such as professional teachers and alumni resources when necessary. At the same time, according to their own strengths and local conditions, carry out targeted lesson preparation, so as to enhance students' sense of participation and cooperation.
With the theme of "Returning to the original heart and pursuing the inner dream", Lu Wen shared her experience in preparing lessons for growth-themed education courses in recent years, combined with her work experience in rooted positions. She believed that counselors should be based on reality and think actively in preparing lessons. Taking the growth-themed education system such as "ideological navigation" and "learning career navigation" that she has built for students over the years as an example, she hoped that counselors could make full use of lesson preparation resources, improve the timeliness and pertinency of courses by combining the latest theories, professional attributes, and student concerns, and at the same time give full play to their personal strengths and take the initiative to plan. An innovative and personalized teaching system has been established to "turn the late name into a meaningful and interesting thing".
Some counselors who participated in the salon for the first time said after the meeting that participating in this kind of industry exchange through the salon is necessary for skilled business and ability expansion, and hope that the Ministry of Education and Work can hold more such activities in the future, so that political cadres can learn from each other and grow together through business discussions and collective exchanges.
