The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of September 4th, the school held the 2024 graduate freshman orientation meeting and the first roll call. Professor Wen Jie, the deputy dean of the School of Law, and Zhang Yongji, the graduate counselor, initiated the first lesson of the freshman orientation for the new students, focusing on graduate education and training, career planning, campus safety and so on. Wen Jie, with the topic "How Graduate Students Study and Research," introduced to the students in detail the process, methods of graduate training in the school, and how to conduct scientific research. Zhang Yongji, with the topic "To Act and Not to Act," encouraged the freshmen to actively plan their graduate career.

Wen Jie welcomed the students to join the family of School of Law and systematically, comprehensively, and in detail introduced the graduate training model of the school, the research methods of graduate students, and the curriculum system, practical teaching, and graduation thesis of different majors from three aspects: "Determine the Research Direction," "Clarify the Training Requirements," and "Pay Attention to Learning Methods." He encouraged students to plan their study and research time reasonably and wished them success and achievement at CCNU.

Zhang Yongji provided career planning guidance with the theme "What Kind of Person to Become" and "How to Spend These Three Years." He expanded on "To Act and Not to Act," hoping that students would abide by school disciplines and regulations, cherish campus time, plan their time reasonably, study hard, actively participate in activities, and spend their graduate life with struggle.

It is reported that the School of Law attaches great importance to the enrollment education of graduate freshmen, adopting a combination of centralized organization by the school and class-based activities, and giving full play to the role of graduate student organizations. It integrates ideological and political education throughout the career planning education and training of students. In the near future, the school will continue to carry out a variety of special educational activities around the themes of loving and honoring the school, academic research integrity, physical and mental health, and anti-fraud, guiding graduate students to "button up the first button of the new academic journey," and laying a solid foundation for the three-year study and lifelong growth of graduate students.
