On March 30th, at 17:00, a huge forest fire took place in Muli county,Liangshan,Sichuan province. In the afternoon of March 31st, command staffs and local firefighters, a total of 689 workers, from Liangshan branch in Sichuan forest fire corps, started to fight fire in primeval forest at the height of 4000 meters above sea level. During the rescue operation, what accounted for 30 missing rescue workers was that an instant explosion happened and then expanded into a huge fireball within seconds due to a sharp change of wind direction. According to the latest news from Ministry of Emergency Management, up to 18:30, on April 1st ， 30 corpses of rescue workers had been found, who were working in Muli county,Liangshan,Sichuan forest firefight, including 27 fire commanders and 3 local firefighters.
3月30日17时，四川省凉山州木里县境内发生森林火灾。3月31日下午，四川森林消防总队凉山州支队指战员和地方扑火队员共689人在海拔4000余米的原始森林展开扑救。扑火行动中，受风力风向突变影响，突发林火爆燃，瞬间形成巨大火球，在现场的扑火人员紧急避险，30名扑火人员失联。据应急管理部最新消息，截至4月1日18：30，在四川省凉山州木里县森林火灾灭火中失联的30名扑火队员的遗体已全部找到，包括27名森林消防指战员和3名地方扑火人员。
In the morning of April 1st ,according to an urgent report,which Sichuan Forestry and Grassland Administration sent to CPC Sichuan Committee and Sichuan government, the cause of fire was lightning stroke. At the beginning of fire, the extending area was around 2 hectares, and from now on, there was no threat to residents. The scene of fire is around at the altitude of 3600 meters,with complicated landform:steep hillsides and deep valleys,being classified into depopulated zone. In this zone,the communication is intermittent and there aren’t any significant facilities. After an in-depth research by The Paper, a rectification list which had been released in the official website of Muli county on March 21st was found. According to this list,a reviewing group for forest fires in Sichuan province had ever checked Muli county,and had raised 9 suggestions which were aimed at some downsides of forest and grassland fires’ control in Muli county,including the faulty troubleshoot mechanism for forest fires, the nonstandard locating place for firefighting materials and so on. Muli county was required to hand in a rectification report before April 1st. As we can see,the prevention of forest fires in Muli county is lack of systematic management,and can result in potential threat in forest fires. So we can easily find some clues about how this forest fire happened.
4月1日一早，四川省林业和草原局向省委省政府的紧急报告显示，火灾系雷击引起，初期过火面积约2公顷，暂未对居民形成威胁。火场海拔约3600米，地形复杂，坡陡谷深，属无人区，通讯不畅，没有重要设施。经深入调查，澎湃新闻注意到，3月21日木里县政府官网曾发布的一份整改责任清单显示，3月12日，四川省森林草原火灾案件调查复核工作组曾进入该县，开展了调查复核工作，对木里县森林草原防火工作存在问题提出了九条整改意见和建议，其中包括森林火灾风险排查机制不完善，森林防火物资储存不规范等问题，并要求4月1日前书面上报整改情况报告。由此可以看出，凉山木里县对森林大火的防范缺乏体系化管理，本身就存在森林火灾的潜在危险，因此这场夺去了30人性命的森林大火也是有迹可循的了。
In previous forest firefightings of China, especially in some serious firefighting,the extinguishing of forest fires mainly depends on fire airplanes. It’s hard to find substitutes because fire airplanes play considerable roles in the extinguishing of forest fires,for example,scouting and commanding in scene,delivery of firefighters and materials, watering above the fire and so on. But for this fire,the altitude of fire exceeds expectation,so it exerts huge challenge for airplanes’ work. Besides,because of dry and sunny weather,it’s impossible to make artificial rainfall. Given an isolation strip, due to the inconvenient transportation and the complicated landform,only can firefighters instead of large scale facilities conduct an isolation strip,but for a forest fire,man-made isolation strip will be eliminated for granted due to a need of quick-finished one.
森林大火的扑灭其实主要由消防飞机负责，在我国历次发生的森林火灾特别是重特大森林火灾扑救中，森林航空消防力量发挥着火场侦察指挥、人员物资投送、空中洒水灭火等功能，作用难以替代。只是这次森林大火着火点海拔过高，直升机不便高空作业，同时由于长期的晴朗天气，导致没有办法人工降雨。对于隔离带的建造，由于凉山交通不便，地势复杂，无法动用大型机器设备以建造隔离带，只能由人工建造，但是森林大火需要快速建成的隔离带，人工铺设隔离带只能是杯水车薪。
Putting out a forest fire is far more difficult than what people have imagined. Firefighters go to the site under a sword of death in each forest fire. But in China,most of forest fires were man-made,which definitely could be avoided,so when Tomb-sweeping Day is around the corner,we should warn ourselves,also our friends and relatives,to be careful about fire while sweeping tombs for our ancestors. Don’t destroy a whole forest because of your filial piety,don’t burden and hurt firefighters because of your behaviors.
森林大火的扑灭远不如人们想象的那么容易，每一次森林大火都需要消防员冒着生命危险奔赴火场。可是在我国，大部分森林大火都是由于人为原因导致，而这些完全是可以避免的。清明节即将到来，这也告诫我们在为亲人扫墓时，同时也要警惕明火的使用，不要让一片孝心毁掉一片森林，不要再让个人行为增加消防人员的工作，使他们受伤了。
