Focus on the long-term benefits.
During the growth of fruits and vegetables, there is a time difference between sowing and harvesting. So is study. We may not see our progress in a short time. However, we will get a positive feedback for sure as long as we stick to it. We should focus on the long-term benefits instead of the short-term profits. A part of college students spend most of their time in part-time jobs such as leaflet distribution and delivery rather than in their major lessons and self-development, which result in the reduction of their grades and the lack of their professional quality. From my perspective, CCNUers are encouraged to learn extra courses, participate in the major related internship, supervisor's scientific research projects, and social activities in their spare time as long as they can ensure their study time. Obviously, the long-term benefits brought by something good for personal development are more beneficial than the short-term profits brought by the quick money.
Self-disciplined and self-motivated
The surroundings of the university are greatly different from the previous one. There is a larger and larger distance between us and our parents and teachers. They will not urge you to do and submit the homework and go over the lessons any more. Therefore, free and loose environment divides students into two parts, which will lead to the polarization. From my point of view, CCNUers need to develop a habit of planning and making goals. Set a long-term goal such as postgraduate recommendation, studying abroad or getting a job to guide the way you go. And manage your time properly every day, every week and every month, which can help you motivate yourself to follow your plan.
Find your growth points.
The most excellent student in college is not the one who ranks top in study. In the National Scholarship Selection Rules, not only good grades but also scientific research awards, student work, competition awards, paper research are assets. In college, one thing you have insisted may become your advantage or social competitiveness or even your avocation in the future. I think CCNUers can take part in the student work to develop themselves. Our campus media The Voice of CCNU will be a suitable platform for you where you can learn many new media skills. Plus, joining some clubs such as the host team, the Chinese Orchestra team and the wind band is also a good choice.
What I am trying to say is that there is a larger state in the university. Hopefully, CCNUers can brandish the florid youth and shine brightly in Mountain Guizi. I am hoping that my article will be of help for you. Last but not the least, best wishes for your coming happy four-year college life.
