Napoleon Hill, an American writer, ever said, “If You cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.” From my perspective, it means that when we still do not have access to great things, we may as well finish each minor task with all our strength.
一位美国作家拿破仑·希尔，曾经说过，如果你不能做伟大的事情，那就以伟大的方式做小事。依我之见，这句话意思是，当我们还没有机会做伟大的事情的时候，我们最好先全心全力做好每件小任务。
To illustrate, a college student who aspires to win the National Scholarship might decide to listen carefully in class and spare no efforts to finish every assignment. Additionally, he or she has to broaden the horizons and enrich the experiences, achieving the development in an all-around way. On the other hand, if the student only has the ambition while spending all spare time surfing the Internet or being anxious, neither of which would give him or her the skills or experience needed to realize the great goal.
以例子说明，一个渴望得到国家奖学金的大学生可能会决定认真听课、尽全力完成每一次任务。另外，他或她还需要开扩其视野，丰富其经历，以实现全面发展。另外一方面，如果这个学生空有野心，却将空闲时间都花费在上网或焦虑上，是不会获得实现其目标所需要的技能和经验的。
When we consider the various factors that play a role in determining whether a person is successful in life, execution capability is one of the first to come to mind. Therefore, doing great things and doing small things are both of great significance in determining whether we flourish or fall behind. The former gives us the drive and direction to move forward, while the latter enables us to implement our vision and “make things happen”. In combination, they represent the excellent formula that will put us firmly on the road to the ambitious target.
当我们决定一个人是否成功，执行力是首先想到的因素之一。因此，做大事和做小事在决定我们是茁壮成长还是落后方面都是很重要的。前者给我们前进的方向，而后者让我们落实我们的梦想，让其成为现实。将二者结合起来，他们代表了坚定地推动我们走在实现远大理想之路上的绝妙的准则。
