May be a man like this is meant to be lonely. Passionate, neurotic, sensitive and all of these words will be perfect to describe an artist who was unknown to the public before life but became famous after he died. Transparently, this household name is Vincent van Gogh.

Nowadays, it’s generally acknowledged that Vincent van Gogh is a great and brilliant artist representing an era. However, in Van Gogh’s time, no one want to buy Van Gogh’s paintings and undoubtedly no one was willing to gaze upon the paintings to find out what’s the world like in Van Gogh’s mind. Bob Brown once said, behind every successful man there’s a lot of unsuccessful years. For Van Gogh, his life was never a bed of roses.

Character determines life. He was paranoid for which he isolated himself from the world by painting desperately in the room. He had such low emotional intelligence for which he broke up with his best friend and never forgive his friend for the rest of his life because of a trifle. He is so impulsive that he cut off his ear while furious. People at his times looked down on him and watch him as a freak. Van Gogh, obviously, felt painful and had no idea how to make himself understood. As a result, the lonelier he was the more energy he put in painting. In other words, painting is a platform where he expressed his thoughts.

Though Van Gogh was mess with his life, he was never mess with his paintings. His love and passion for painting like a couple in love and last longer. Van Gogh abandoned the dark and leaden colors in the early days of painting, and use some high-definition, high-purity and high-brightness colors to light up his paintings. Among all those colors, Van Gogh preferred yellow which symbolizes the sun and the earth

representing light and hope. Having gone through countless

trials and tribulations, Van Gogh’s heart remained bright and pure. The most well-known painting of Van Gogh is sunflowers beyond doubt. The vivid vitality reflected in the luminous colours of this work shows us the desire for light in Van Gogh’s inner heart.

“Everyone has a fire in their hearts, and people passing by only see smoke.” Van Gogh once said. The greatest thing about Van Gogh is that he kept the flame in his heart which supported his enthusiasm in art no matter how hard the life was. Therefore, he is one of the greatest artists in the world. So whatever and wherever you are, just do not extinguish the fire burning inside your heart which people call dream.
